You should keep a minimum selection of tools around your home - these would include a hammer, a couple wrenches,
a few pliers (different types - needlenose, grabbing types - good to have a variety), a screwdriver set
(including flat and phillips head screwdrivers). Add a power drill for emergencies, some precision tools (to fix the tiny things, or
get into the appliances you own), and hex wrenches - then you should be set for most problems. Later you might find other tools that
will work great for you. I learned to be self sufficient with my collection of tools, and in fact that was a point of interest
with my husband - he loved my tool collection when we met - I had a better tool collection than he!
