We know there are many scams, and most spam messages are not worth bothering with - if someone is legitimate, why would they hide their identity? Has anyone or any program been lying to you, stealing from you, or cheating you? Do you have questions about any program that you want to find out more about before getting involved? Do you see problems that might mean something bad? Do you sense a con game or fraud?

Just for the record, some programs just don't end up making a profit, have problems, and start to go under, without meaning to scam anyone. This isn't always fair, granted. If the people heading up the program will be up front with you, and let you know there are troubles, let you know the program isn't performing, etc., then that is admirable. When, instead, there are no communications to explain, and the only emails you get point blame at others, or there are no payments being made, you have to question the situation. Is it folding and giving you no clue? Is it in trouble but letting you know up front? The lack of honesty and the evasiveness are what hurts. This shows a very poor business conduct on behalf of the program owners, and can be considered fraudulent.

How to Spot a Scam

=> Promises quick riches, often with little or no effort.
=> Comes as spam, with no contact information, and invalid email address.
=> Regular communications from the company taper off or stop.
=> If the ad sounds "too good to be true" it probably is.
=> Charges money for no product.
=> Is too secretive and doesn't disclose credible contact information.
=> Is "urgent."
=> Can't produce credible referrals.
=> Uses a phony/misleading subject line that doesn't match the ad.
=> ONLY wants you to recruit others into program, with no products to represent.
=> Message subject has nothing to do with the ad - just wants your attention - misleading.
=> Pretends to be replying to you for something you never sent.
=> Sends you email using your own address to reply to.
=> Promises "free" money or services which doesn't seem to add up (free electricity, money with no source, etc.).
=> The contact person cannot tell you anything about the program, not even the name - very evasive.
=> Money laundering schemes - Nigerian or other country - they even CALL on the phone!

How to Spot a Credible Company

=> Has a seal of a credible agency on it, which keeps reports on file.
=> Has testimonials from satisfied customers, and allows you to contact them.
=> Has a known pay-out history, with on time payments, that you can verify.
=> Has all contact information listed easily, and is valid.
=> Answers your communications.
=> Lets you know details of the program, including the name of the company.

The Caution Signs I Look For Are:

=> Asking for your information (credit card, bank account, password, etc.)
=> Tells you to call or click on a link to give information to - don't!
=> Product not yet released but you have to pay anyway.
=> Product so new no one has had a chance to use it or know it.
=> Program has a monthly cost requirement.
=> Shipping cost is more than the product cost.
=> It's a rewording of a known scam (for example, different versions of the Nigerian schemes).
=> Too much hype and promises.
=> The "guru" has previously been worthless in his prior support.
=> Would one feel "guilty" pushing this on someone else.
=> Asks for your credit card information.
=> Reports to be "confidential."
=> Gives you a phony "deadline" - acting urgent.
=> Email says you must call because it's using a friend's computer.
=> And a few other clues that don't feel "right."
=>
Identity Theft
=> Read Credit Scam Reports
