Time Saving Tips Find out if you can get a generic prescription if you can - not all medications have a generic equivalent or substitute. Once patents run out, there can be more generics so keep checking. Generic medications can cost much less than the non-generic equivalent. One medication I was on, was about $180 for a 30 day supply, using the regular cost. Insurance brought it to about $70, and mail order to about $100 for a 90 day supply (do use mail order if you have the choice - but only after pricing it at a pharmacy such as WalMart, or Sam's Club or Costco (you may not have to be a club member to use the pharmacy and take advantage of the prices - call and ask). When I could use the generic prescrition, it dropped to $20 for a 90 day supply. When WalMart and Sam's Club lowered certain generic medicines to $4 for a 30 day supply, my cost is now $4 every 30 days ($12 for a 90 day supply - what a savings!). Not only does WalMart save me lots of money, it also saves me time - I don't have to wait for my meds to be mailed to me (especially when starting a new prescription) - I can pick it up from WalMart shortly after it's called in (first time by the doctor, refills called in by me). Save time by filing your tax return online - if you are getting a refund, you'll get paid sooner by filing online - otherwise, expect to wait in the pile of mailed returns until yours comes up. If you are owing money, you can wait until pretty much the last minute to file online - no more finding a post office that is open until midnight on April 15th. Prepare your federal and resident state tax returns online with CompleteTax. Keep a list in the kitchen to write down your shopping list on - so you can make just one trip to get everything, rather than go on a daily basis. Keep a list of things to do so you don't forget, and you can organize yourself for better productivity. Map out your shopping areas and plan a "route" to take - go one direction one day, an opposite direction another day - this saves money in fuel costs, as well. Want to save time cleaning your floors? Compress Your Graphics - make your digital photos and your web pages load up faster - save time by getting rid of the wait. The cost is minimal, the result is outstanding. Pick the fastest loading time for the type of quality you want to keep - most of the time you can't see the difference. Quick files usually don't need to be so big - get them to load faster. Relief for your back & neck when using a laptop Laptops are ergonomically awful - the screen and keyboard aren't in the right places to keep yourself healthy - you have to lean over to work with it, and then there is the problem of heat - which can and does cause other health problems.
