Have you been bitten by a dog, and are waiting for a lawsuit or insurance payment?

Pet Tips

My dogs have always been great at giving hugs - I am not sure how they learned it, but I suspect I must have started picking them up at an early age and wrapped them around me, so as they grew up they must have begun to jump up and wrap their front paws around me. As they get older and bigger, they gently kept jumping up to wrap the paws around me, giving the greatest hugs a pet can give. People who see this remark how they've never seen a dog do this. It's great to teach them - they can show their love to you as well!

Clean your dog's paws after being in the snow, and make sure he hasn't ripped the pads on ice sticking to them. When it's very cold, let him stay in, putting him out to relieve himself off anf on during the day.

When dogs fight for position, let them figure it out as much as possible - one dog in a pack must always be the top dog. Don't try to change what nature decides - it can confuse them.

Feed hard dog food rather than canned or soft food - it's better for cleaning dog's teeth.

Walk the dog on the sidewalk or street so his claws can wear down - otherwise clip them occasionally.

Birds may also need their claws clipped - but have a vet do this so not to clip to close to the veins. Birds cannot lose much blood - even a drop can be significant. Birds may also need their beaks trimmed (again, have a vet do this) - we were just about to go get this done and I was playing with the bird, having him crawl up my fingers over and over - he grabbed my finger with his beak and climbed over and over - then his beak snapped off in the correct place - and we didn't need to take him to the vet! If a beak is getting too long, or curving under too much, try making your bird climb, using his beak to pull up - maybe you'll get lucky and it'll break off nicely, as well.

Relief for your back & neck when using a laptop
Laptops are ergonomically awful - the screen and keyboard aren't in the right places to keep yourself healthy - you have to lean over to work with it, and then there is the problem of heat - which can and does cause other health problems. One wonderful invention is the LapGenie - it is an adjustable desk to set your laptop into the best position it can be. It folds up for easy travel, and has many other uses. Check it out. It's made a huge difference to me and a lot of people.

Who's eating what?
A pig had to share a stable and feed bags with a horse and a cow. If the pig ate oats, then the horse ate what the cow ate. If the horse ate oats, then the pig ate what the cow did not eat. If the cow ate hay, then the pig ate what the horse ate. Who always ate from the same feed bag?
The answer is "the pig always ate from the bag with hay."
