Teeth and Gums
If you have tooth or gum pain, bleeding, etc. - make a dental appointment. It could be more serious than you think.
You could be pulling toxins and germs into your bloodstream from the open sores and cavities. This can harm your heart
and other body part areas.
For slight soreness or bleeding - make sure to brush the area with a soft gentle toothbrush and gentle toothpaste (not
a grainy paste). Brush it well, and make sure to floss the area well - going down the sides of each tooth several times to
break up the plaque or tartar. Use a wooden toothbrush (round is best) and run the tip along the gumline of both the sore
area and along the gumlines of all your teeth. Try to get under the gum a bit and work out the build-up fromunder it if you can.
Just be gentle.
For sensitivity to hot, cold or sugar - you may need a toothpaste to help with it - like Sensodyne or Crest Pro Health.
Use as directed or as your dentist recommends. If the pain goes down into your tooth, a toothpaste won't help - you may have a
cavity or need a root canal. See your dentist. If the pain lasts and gets bad or won't let you sleep - see your dentist. You
may have a cracked tooth or an infection in or under your nerve area.
Daily care - brush every day - especially in the morning and at night, plus after meals, drinks and snacks when you can. Use a
soft toothbrush (a hard brush can iritate the gums, plus push food up under the gums, compacting it).
The morning is important because all night the germs and bacteria build up that can cause plaque to form (plus bad breathe) - you
need to brush this away every morning - it is ok to eat first so you don't have to brush twice. For those who sleep with their
mouth open - it's extremely important to brush in the morning. Brush at night so to clean out all foods collected over the day, and use a
flouride toothpaste or rinse. Brush in a circular motion, not back and forth across the teeth. Hold your brush at about a
45 degree angle from the tooth, directing the bristles under the gumline, in the gentle circular motion.
Floss your teeth every day at least once or more if you need. Glide it along the sides of each tooth to scrape away the
plaque that your toothbrush can't reach.
Use an antibacterial mouthwash to rinse with as directed, daily. This will help keep your mouth clean and minimize the
bad bacteria. Yes - there are good bacteria in the mouth as well. Saliva is important to keep the teeth cleaned and
healthy. If you have low salivation - ask your dentist about it.
Get a small brush tip and handle to brush between the teeth for a better cleaning. These are available at most
WalMarts and such.

Health Tips
Stuffed nose at night lately? If you've been having problems lately, it could be
allergies
getting to you, with the blooms,
pollen
and plant growth lately. You can try to take an over
the counter nasal spray - but don't use it for more than 2-3 nights. It can not only
become ineffective (or make the stuffiness worse),
but can even cause your nose to start bleeding - being too harsh. Try taking allergy
meds and Benadryl at night with Sudafed in the morning to help dry out your system. Sometimes
it's hard to sleep - if you have to sleep with your mouth open, your throat may get very dry
overnight. Drink water and brush your teeth in the morning. Drink a lot all day long. You
may wish to set up a
humidifier
to sleep with at night, or go into the bathroom and
breathe in steam from hot water in the sink and a towel over your head. You may even benefit from an
air cleaner
If it's a chronic problem - a visit to the doctor is in order - there may be something
else going on.
Stay safe with the sun! The sun is stronger in the summer - be sure to use
plenty of sunscreen (reapply every 3-4 hours or after getting into water - and don't
forget your lips), wear a hat (and sleeves if you can), and wear good sunglasses. Don't
risk harming your eyes or skin (skin cancer can develop with sunburn or lots of unprotected
sun).

Relief for your back & neck when using a laptop
Laptops are ergonomically awful - the screen and keyboard aren't in the right places to keep yourself
healthy - you have to lean over to work with it, and then there is the problem of heat - which can and does
cause other health problems. One wonderful invention is the LapGenie
- it is an adjustable desk to set your
laptop into the best position it can be. It folds up for easy travel, and has many other uses. Check it out. It's made a huge difference to
me and a lot of people.
