Ezines are great places to advertise in, as long as there is a reader base which is reading the issues. Look over the ezines before advertising - are they of good quality, or mainly full of ads, or full of bad grammar, or contain articles that everyone else is publishing? Chances are that people are not reading the ezines unless it has good, fresh content that is helpful. Many ezines have quit publishing because of the spam concerns. I have begun to keep my ezine issues online only, and plan to only notify readers when a new issue is ready. Find those that have GOOD content, original, and only a handful of ads. When people have to sift through a lot of ads to find content, there is no point in being one of the ads that is skipped over. Advertise in a top sponsor position or a bottom sponsor ad position, or in the middle of a good article. Don't bother with "classifieds" - they are glossed over pretty quickly if they are read at all, unless there are only 1-3 classified ads (in which case you might do better). Solo ads are quite effective, if they are done well - showing your headline (which had better be good) as the subject, and and perhaps having some type of enticement for the readers to read the ad, as long as the ezine is not considered spam as it can get your site shut down with complaints about the ad.
