Easter is the time we celebrate God's greatest gift to man - Jesus was crucified and died to pay for our sins so we may be
forgiven, then on the 3rd day he rose to life again, just like every spring when new blossoms come, seeds dead for the winter come
back to life, and the church celebrates this time as the greatest Christian Holiday. The promise of eternal life in Heaven,
through the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is what we celebrate at Easter. There is once again joy - Hallelujah!
Don't let the "Easter Bunny" rule - this holiday isn't about him, or about eggs, but about new beginnings, new
life, new chances, rebirth. Remember what Easter means and reflect on it.
This is not to say you shouldn't hold an Easter egg hunt or place a basket for your child - it
means to put the holiday into perspective and think simply about it.

About Easter Eggs
First - I have no idea how or why Eater eggs came into the Easter tradition. It makes no sense to me, but
the fact is, the tradition is here.
To boil the eggs, fill your pot with lukewarm water - not so full that there is no room for the eggs. Then,
place the eggs in, one at a time, not letting them hit each other. Let them sit in the water for about 10-15 minutes, so the
eggs get to room temperature. Then put the stove on, low for awhile, letting the water heat very slowly. You can turn it
up to boil, once the water gets quite hot. Once boiling, turn off the stove and put a cover on the eggs. Let them sit in the
water for about 10 or so minutes. Then they're ready to use - once they cool off. You can run cold water into the pot,
oushing out the hot water. This will cool them faster.
A good way to get egg coloring supplies is to shop for them after Easter - when they are on sale. Whatever you have left
after every coloring episode, place in ziploc bags to store for the next year. You'll collect some great variety after a few years -
from great stickers, to shaking the color on, to setting glitter sparkles on them, etc. It will be a good amount of fun for
the kids to get choics and do mix & match (as long as you don't have kids who fight over everything).
